We are making certain changes to how long we retain your data and make it available for querying.
Starting August 27, 2025, we’ll be ingesting 13 months sampled data spans/transactions data on Business plans.

Spans/Transactions available with 30 days + 13 months sampled retention
On August 27, we will start storing a sampling of spans for 13 months. In November, the Explore->Traces UX will let you query spans data. 13 months of sampled retention allows users to compute their metrics over longer time ranges and even do year-over-year comparisons in key metrics like web vitals.
When will I begin to see the new retention changes in my org
Retention is set at the time the data is ingested. That means that any data that was ingested with the original 90 day retention period (prior to these changes) will continue to be retained for 90 days. Only new data, after this change is effective, will be retained for the new period.
This also applies during plan upgrades or downgrades: if a user’s retention period changes due to a plan change, any existing data will still have the previous retention period.
