Will I pay more?
If you are currently paying $29 for a Team plan or $89 for a Business plan (or the equivalent with discounts for paying annually upfront) the price of your subscription fees will not change. See below for details on possible fee changes related to reserved volumes or on-demand.
How is my legacy plan changing?
We’re shifting to span-based data ingestion to provide a better tracing experience and give you more utility from alerts, Dashboards, Discover, and search. In order to do this we are updating our self-serve paid plans. Starting October 16th, you will see changes in event volumes and available features.
Our latest plan offers access to a set of new features:
Our latest plan includes:
- 10M spans for easier debugging and performance monitoring
- Simplified, cheaper pay-as-you-go pricing
- Free early access to Continuous Profiling currently in Beta
- New Business Plan Trial - 14 days free to try business plan features like Insights to get service-level performance data
- New Spans Trial - 14 days free to send unlimited spans to unlock distributed tracing and service-level performance data
Will I see any changes to my bill?
Outside of the addition of spans, the majority of customers will see no change to their bill. However some could see up to:
-
- 3% price change on reserved error volumes
- 1% price change on reserved replay volumes
- 8% price change on reserved attachment volumes
See the updated pricing breakdown for more information on the current pricing.
Subscription changes:
While we are not changing the base price of Team ($29 USD) and Business ($89 USD) plans but we are making changes to the base quota amounts that come with Team and Business Plans, see the table below:
Event Type | Old | New |
Error Monitoring | 50k errors | 50k errors |
Tracing and performance monitoring | 100k performance units |
10M spans |
Session Replay | 500 replays | 50 replays |
Cron Monitoring | 1 cron monitor | 1 cron monitor |
Attachments | 1 GB | 1 GB |
Changes to On-demand
- As part of this change, you’ll see that on-demand is now called Pay-as-you-go, and has better pricing to help with any unexpected events. It works the same way: you set a dollar budget above your reserved volumes.
- We are also sunsetting the ability to select per-category on-demand. If you currently have a per-category on-demand budget, please enter the combined about into a shared Pay-as-you-go budget.
How can I understand my span usage?
To view your span usage, go to your account’s Stats page and select “Spans” from the dropdown
Will my account lose any features?
- Team plans will lose access to Performance Insights (now only for Business plans).
- Team and Business plans will lose access to Spend Allocation, a feature now reserved for Enterprise plans.
- If your Sentry organization was already using Spend Allocation before it's inclusion in the Business plan was deprecated this feature will be "grandfathered" into your plan's feature-set upon migration.
- Despite this "grandfathering" - spend allocations do not support the allocation of spans so any allocations for performance units will not be migrated to the latest plan.
- All notification settings will be migrated automatically.
