What are the sanctions?
On June 12, 2024, the U.S. Department of the Treasury, Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) issued additional sanctions against Russia.
These sanctions prohibit the export, sale or supply by U.S. companies of various IT services, including certain “cloud-based services” related to enterprise management software, directly or indirectly to any person located in Russia, absent authorization from OFAC.
These sanctions have gone into effect as of September 12, 2024.
What if my organization is not located in Russia, but I have Russian-based team members?
The OFAC sanctions prohibit U.S. persons from providing certain “cloud-based services” to or for the benefit of any person located in Russia. Thus, as of September 10, 2024, no persons located in Russia can access Sentry.
What if I received an email that my teams access may be impacted but none of my organizations team members are located Russia?
Out of an abundance of caution Sentry has distributed notices broadly to teams that have the opportunity to be impacted by these new access restrictions, if you believe this is not applicable to your team you may safely ignore the message.

What has Sentry done in response to the OFAC sanctions announced on June 12, 2024?
In order to comply with these sanctions, Sentry has:
- Terminated paid accounts with all customers located in, or organized under the laws of, Russia, effective September 10, 2024;
- Blocked access to Sentry by any person located in Russia beginning September 10, 2024; and
- No longer accepts payment from any Russian customer effective September 10, 2024.
What if I received an email that my account was scheduled to be terminated on September 10, 2024 but my organization is not in Russia?
