Issue
When we enable the integration and connect our GitHub organization to Sentry, do our users still have to create their own Sentry account?
We would also like to confirm with you that when we remove someone from our GitHub organization, they are also not able to access the Sentry organization anymore. Is that correct?
Applies To
- Paying or Trialing SaaS Customers
- SSO
Resolution
Users CAN sign in directly with GitHub without creating a Sentry account first! When someone signs in with GitHub for the first time, Sentry will automatically check if they're a member of the configured GitHub organization, and if yes, create a new Sentry account for them. This will grant them membership in your Sentry organization right away.
Additionally, yes, removing someone from the GitHub organization should revoke their Sentry access. When a user is no longer a member of the GitHub org, their identity becomes invalid and they lose access to Sentry.
